Daily Memory Verse: “O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
(Psalms 34:8 NASB).” http://bible.com/100/psa.34.8.NASB

Bible reading for the day:

Joshua 21

Notable Verses:

  • Joshua 21:13‭,41 NASB: So to the sons of Aaron the priest they gave Hebron, the city of refuge for the manslayer, with its pasture lands, and Libnah with its pasture lands, All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the sons of Israel were forty-eight cities with their pasture lands.
  • Joshua 21:44‭-‬45 NASB: And the Lord gave them rest on every side, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers, and no one of all their enemies stood before them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hand. Not one of the good promises which the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed; all came to pass.”

Discussion:

  • This chapter describes how the Levites were assigned cities within all the regions. Although no regions were given to them, they received cities scattered all over the land. Hebron was named as one of the cities of refuge assigned to them.
  • This chapter also testifies of God keeping ALL his promises”(v 45).

Today’s Prayer: O God my refuge. Faithful God, that’s who are you are. Have you said it and not done it?

I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. (Phillipians 3:12 NLT)
