Discussion:
- A woman was caught in the act of adultery and she was brought by the Pharisees to Jesus to Mrs a judgement. They wanted him to decide whether or not she could be stoned but Jesus asked them to go ahead with the stoning if they had no sin. No one could claim to be sinless so they all walked away. He didn’t just let her go without asking her to change: He told the woman to go and start a new life of holiness.
- Jesus calls everyone to himself but he also wants us to change from our old ways once we come to Him.
- Jesus is the light of the world.
- Jesus was sent By God.
- When we tell lies, it shows our allegiance to the devil because he is the father of all lies (v 44).
- Jesus did not seek to glorify Himself but God the Father.
- They tried to stone Jesus but he was miraculously hidden from them and walked away from the crowd (v 59).
