Daily Memory Verse: “I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
(Psalms 16:8 NASB).” http://bible.com/100/psa.16.8.NASB
Joshua 22
Notable Verses:
Joshua 22:5 NASB: Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God and walk in all His ways and keep His commandments and hold fast to Him and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
Discussion:
- When God is your right hand man, nothing can shake you (memory verse).
- The first half of Joshua 22 shows when Joshua commissioned the Reubenites, Gadites and half of the Manasseh tribe to return to their land. What had happened was these three groups were the first to receive their land allocation before the Jordan River. However, they had been commanded to help the other tribes fight and only return when Israel has completely conquered the land. Now, God had given the Israelites rest and it was time to return.
- The second half describes how they built an altar and the other Israelites heard it and thought it was an altar for a false God. They were even prepared to go to war against their brothers. However, this was averted when these three tribes explained that it was just to commemorate that the Lord is God.
Today’s Prayer: O God my right hand man.

This is a trustworthy saying, worthy of full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst. (1 Timothy 1:15 NLT)
